Does Galaxy Unit replace QuickBooks?
For many small service businesses it removes the daily need for it, because the tax position and job costs are already there. If you need full general-ledger accounting, payroll and bank reconciliation, keep QuickBooks — and hand it clean, organized records.
Will my accountant be happy with this?
Generally yes, because the alternative they usually receive is a bag of receipts. Categorized expenses with the original scans attached is a better starting point than a shoebox.
Why not just add job costing to QuickBooks?
Because the hours, materials and schedule live in your operations, not your ledger. Job costing bolted onto accounting means someone re-enters operational reality by hand — which is exactly the work that never gets done.
